About
Hi, my name is Paul Harrison. I started Seavoice Training in 2006 initially to run the RYA VHF Radio course, after many years working for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency as a Watch keeper, and spending many long hours listening for Distress on Channel 16, I knew I could teach this course from a professional angle, and pass on my knowledge to the Seafarer.
My background has always been the sea, my father was a full time Inshore Fisherman and took me and my brother out on his boats, Shrimp trawling in the Ribble, and Dee estuaries
Back in 1988 I was approached to join the Local Inshore Lifeboat www.southport-lifeboat.co.uk and started as a crew member. I reached the level of Coxswain in 2000 and I am now one of the Deputy Launching officers for the trust.
In 2008 I qualified as a shore based RYA Instructor to deliver the RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship course and I would like to thank my mentor and Friend of many years, Mr Mike Hughes from Manor Marine Training Liverpool for all his advice and help he has given me.
