Colin is proud of his RNLI background which adds additional interest to the courses he delivers, with particular emphasis on safety on the water and accident prevention. A former RNLI volunteer, he went on to train and assess volunteers as an RNLI training assessor on inshore lifeboats, from the North sea to the Solent and inland waterways.
Colin is also a VHF assessor and First Aid Trainer and an advanced Powerboat instructor. Colin has worked for a number of training centres during his RYA career but his ambition was to own and run his own centre delivering quality tuition to its clients on a personable basis.
Now with the latest acquisition to Blue Lamp’s fleet, the former St Peter Port lifeboat, clients will be able to participate in training courses in a unique and formidable environment.
Colin takes our Online VHF Radio students in and around the London area for the final face to face Short Range Certificate exams.

With our RYA training centre partners; Blue Lamp Afloat, Premier Sailing and Seavoice Training, we are a unique facility, able to host a variety of training courses here in central London. What finer location to learn and be surrounded by a marvel of maritime sea going history.
Lifeboat 52-02 is a Private Limited Company formed to preserve and promote a piece of British lifeboat and life-saving history, whilst educating the public. We are neither a charity nor part of the RNLI, but our volunteers are Lifeboat enthusiasts. The company will from time to time make charitable donations to the RNLI, itself a voluntary organisation through activities and open days.
